2. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 101 2nd Street, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA. Each time you visit, Netlify processes technical data that your browser sends automatically: IP address, date and time, the page visited, the previously visited page (referrer), browser and operating system. This is necessary to deliver the website securely and reliably.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of the website. Netlify processes the data on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). Netlify is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The transfer to the USA is therefore based on the European Commission's adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR).
3. Fonts
The fonts on this website are hosted on our own server. No connection to Google or other font providers is made when you visit.
4. Weather display
On the region cards we show the current weather. To do this, your browser fetches the data directly from OpenMeteo GmbH, Hintere Schilligmatte 6, 6463 Bürglen, Switzerland. Your IP address and the coordinates of the region in question are transmitted, not your own location. According to Open-Meteo, it does not set cookies and deletes server log files after 90 days.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is showing up-to-date information on the regions. The European Commission has issued an adequacy decision for Switzerland.
5. Intake form
In the form we ask for information about you, your plans to move abroad, your job and finances, visa, housing, health insurance and the support you want, as well as your contact details. From this, your browser creates a first, non-binding assessment.
By clicking “Create my profile” you send your details to us. Transmission and storage run through Netlify's form service (see section 2). We use the data to handle your request, contact you and prepare a possible offer.
The legal bases are Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (request and pre-contractual measures) and your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. The assessment is not an automated decision within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR. We discuss every recommendation with you in person.
So that nothing gets lost while you fill in the form, your browser saves your progress locally on your device (local storage). This saved progress is only sent to us when you submit the form. You can delete it with “Start a new request”. The legal basis is § 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG, because the storage is necessary for the form you are using.
6. Customer management
We manage requests and customer data in Airtable, a service of Formagrid, Inc., 799 Market Street, 8th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA. Airtable processes the data on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). The transfer to the USA is based on the EU standard contractual clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).
7. Contact by email, phone or WhatsApp
If you write to us or call us, we process your details to handle your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). If you choose WhatsApp as your contact method, we use the service of WhatsApp Ireland Limited, Dublin, Ireland. WhatsApp's privacy notice also applies.
8. Sharing with partners
For many services we work with partners, for example for visas, insurance, housing or banking. We only share your data if you hire us, and only as far as needed for the service you want. We discuss this with you beforehand.
Some partners are based in Thailand. There is no European Commission adequacy decision for Thailand. Data is only transferred there if this is necessary to carry out your order (Art. 49(1)(b) GDPR) or if you have given your explicit consent (Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR).
9. Storage period
We only store your data for as long as needed for the purpose in question. If a request doesn't lead to an order, we delete it after [12] months at the latest. Customer data is subject to statutory retention periods, for example up to ten years under commercial and tax law.
10. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR). A short email to info@goodbye-europe.com is enough.
You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the authority in your federal state or the authority responsible for us: [Aufsichtsbehörde eures Bundeslandes].
Right to object
If we process data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you can object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). We will then stop processing the data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds.
11. Encryption
This website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognize it by the lock icon and “https://” in your browser's address bar.
12. External links
Links to Instagram and to the sources in the Thailand Update are plain links. Data is only transferred when you click them. The privacy policy of the respective site then applies.
